Easter

We started our Easter Sunday by going to the sunrise service at my parent's church.  They always have it at the pavillion that is behind the Peace Center and it's quite pretty.  We took Emmie and she lasted all of about 5 minutes and then she and Paul walked around and looked at all the ducks (but she did look cute in her dress!).  My mom wasn't feeling good (they think she has bronchitis) so she stayed home with Franklin and they cuddled...if you've known my mom for years it should astound you that she let a dog in her bed...but Franklin's not really a dog...he's a people.  Ben came home Saturday night and seeing him was a nice suprise as he originally wasn't going to make it home.  After we got home from church we ate breakfast and then Emmie and Franklin got to see what the Easter bunny brought them (it's not pictured but Franklin got a stuffed frog).

My parents got Emmie a cleaning set and a popper which she LOVED!  She wasn't sure about the vacuum cleaner the bunny brought her but she loved getting If You Take a Mouse to the Movies!  Her copy had been read to pieces and we have now read the book 1,567,395 times in the past 3 days!  After she looked at all her stuff we took her outside to play with her bubbles.  It got kind of messy so we stripped her down!

Around lunch time we headed up to Shelby, NC to do Easter with Paul's extended family.
Paul's parents got Emmie some clothes, a neat little clip that will hold a napkin around her neck (great for restaurants), and an old fashioned spinning top that all the kids loved.

Emmie had sooooo much fun with all the other girls and we all got a big kick out of watching her play with them!  Emma, Mary Jane, Laura Ann, Abby, and Riley were sooo good with her.

When we sat Emmie down with us to eat she kept looking over at the table where all the big girls were sitting so we moved her over to sit with them...she loved it.

Funny story:  When she finished her chicken nuggets she signed to me that she wanted more but I told her she couldn't have any more (she was already on her second serving) and that they were "all gone"so she turned to Mary Jane and signed "more".  Ha!  She apparently thought Mary Jane might know where some more chicken nuggets were!  After lunch all the girls went out and hunted Easter Eggs and Emmie quickly figured out what she was supposed to do. The older girls were so sweet and even helped Emmie find some eggs.

After the egg hunt we headed back to Columbia and got here around 5:30.  I put Emmie in her crib around 7:30 and she was still awake and she didn't fall asleep until 8:30!  Paul and I were so tired and I couldn't believe she was still awake.  She was just in there chatting away and my mom figures that maybe she and mousie had to tell her other animals about their adventures!  All in all we had a fun day and enjoyed seeing all our families!
