Sunday Style Section

I love all the bright colors on this dress!  This is another of my mom's consignment sale finds.

You know I always love a pink and green outfit.  I was worried the top wouldn't go over her stomach but it did...yay! (Another one of my mom's consignment sale finds...she got so many cute things!)

I love this dress (guess where it came from?).  I really love all the bright summer clothes that Emmie has...they're very happy!  By the way...this dress is a 24mo. dress and it was a little tight on the top!

It's very stylish to go to the zoo with a friend...plus Liv's outfit is super cute...it needed a Sunday Style Section appearance.

Today Emmie wore her Noah's Ark dress to church.  Poor thing, I didn't realize how cold it was outside...glad I put a jacket on her!  She loved having the hood up on her jacket.  She's so cute after we pick her up from the nursery.  She's gotten very independent and likes to walk everywhere so we let her walk out to the parking lot.  She looks so funny walking through all the big people...plus she doesn't really walk...it's that funny toddler waddle.

I put her in something warmer once we got home from church!  I got this at Daff-a-deals when they had their winter clothes on clearance.  I bought it for next winter and I think it's super cute.  I'm glad I had it...she's outgrown most of her clothes from this past winter!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will still fit her in the winter...it does have adjustable straps so that should help!

Mission Accomplished!

I had the hardest time finding bedding for Ellie's room.  I FINALLY found one I liked but, while many stores carry it, no one actually has it in the store to look at (apparently a very common problem with baby bedding).  Then the bedding I liked was on back order so I had to wait awhile before I could get it.  Today it finally came and I really like it!

This is the Sweet Pea bedding by My Baby Sam .  I had never heard of the company before but they have super cute bedding!
We're going to paint the room green...probably the same color as Emmie's room.

This is the crib we ordered.  We orderd it from Baby Furniture Plus which is also where we got Emmie's furnitre.  We also ordered a chest of drawers, a dresser, and a glider chair like Emmie's.  (Sorry I couldn't put any pictures of the furniture up...none of them would copy right.)  I'm super excited about fixing up Ellie's room and I'm hoping to also work on some stuff for Emmie's walls while I'm getting Ellie's room fixed.

You've got a friend in me...

Emmie is always looking for ways to win Franklin's affection (aka let her get close to him).  She LOVES to give him his treats, she brings him his toys and plays tug of war, she shows an interest in what he's interested in (aka she follows him around the house whether he likes it or not) and today she found a new way to show him her love...

Ususally if Emmie gets anywhere near Franklin's bowl he looks at the adult in charge as if to say "do you see what she's doing?  aren't you going to do something about her?".  Today though he seemed very content to let her hand feed him.  For a long time he was sitting on my lap on couch and she was bringing him his food....since he's not already rotten enough!  Hope he doesn't expect the rest of us to cater to him in this fashion!

15 Months

I am 15 months (and 4 days)!

  • I weigh 25lb which is the 81st percentile and am 30in which is the 37th percentile. (I haven't gotten any taller since my 1 yr appointment so perhaps I'm about to have a growth spurt!)

  • When she was 15 months my Mommy weighed 20lb 5oz and was 32in.
  • When he was 15 months my Daddy weighed 20lb 7in and was 30.5in.
  • I walk everywhere and can also walk backwards and turn in a circle.
  • I have 7 teeth.  I have 4 on the top and 3 on the bottom.
  • I sleep about 12 hours at night and take about a 1 1/2hr nap after lunch.
  • I wear mostly 18mo clothes.  I generally wear 24mo or 2t shirts (they have to go over my big tummy!).  I wear 18mo-2t pajamas.
  • I eat everything!  I especially love meat but am not so fond of green veggies.

I love spaghetti!

  • One of my big accomplishments this month is learning to go down the stairs safely (as opposed to head first).
  • I can point to my nose, eyes, ears, sometimes my mouth, tummy, toes, and head/hair.
  • I say lots of words: Mama, Dada (but usually I just make my daddy noise), dog, water (a new word this month!), milk, Papa, yes, no, ok, again, book, bath, thank you, ball, shoes ( I do loooove shoes!), and many other words I can't think of right now!
  • I know that a dog barks and sometimes I can tell you that a duck quacks, a cow says moo, and a lion roars.
  • Sometimes if I see a picture of a sheep I'll say "baa".
  • In my book of words I can point to the ball.
  • I'm very interested in my colors book.
  • I can sign please, more, milk, and change.  I don't sign very often though...I usually talk.
  • I understand pretty much everything adults say and am very good at following instructions.  I really like to have a job.
  • At night I sleep with my mousie and have recently gotten attatched to my blanket.
  • I got a little potty this month and have grown more interested in it as time has gone on and sometimes I'll sit on it for a few seconds.
  • This month I went to the zoo a few times.

  • This month I went to the park a lot!  My favorite thing at the park is the slide...I like to go down head first!

  • I went to Summerville for a weekend this month.
  • This month I found out I'm going to have a little sister!  I'm not sure what that really means but everyone seems excited.

  • I loooooooove to read.  I especially love to have someone read the same book over and over again.

  • I've gotten pretty good at puzzles and I'll sit and work on them for a short amount of time.
  • I'm very content to play by myself for long periods of time.
  • I like to help with whatever the adults are doing...laundry, unloading the dishwasher, swiffering, etc.

  • Sometimes in the bathtub I'll put my face in the water...I can't wait until I can play in the pool this summer!
  • I still go to My Gym and I love it!  My new skill is that I will hold on the parallel bar.  I'm also getting better at "jumping" on the trampoline.  I will bend my knees and bounce.
  • I've enjoyed being able to play outside.  I would stay outside all day if I could!

  • I still really love my puppy and we play together more and more each month. One of my new favorite things to do is to get a handfull of food out of the bag and put it in his bowl. He doesn't find this as amusing as I do.

Sunday Style Section

I love this little outfit!  I very rarely put her in purple but she looks so cute in it.  This is an outfit that my Mom found at a consignment sale in Greenville.

I love the sleeves!

Emmie's new sandals...finally her feet can breathe!  After we got them she kept showing them too me and saying "shoes"...I think she was VERY glad to get new shoes.

A little Raggedy Ann and Andy outfit...also from the consignment sale in Greenville.

I love this navy and pink ballerina dress that my mom found.

A Sunny Saturday!

Today was a beeeeeeeeeeeautiful day here in Columbia!  And not only was it a beautiful day but Paul and I were BOTH off of work...yay!  This morning we all went to the Blythwood Park and had a lot of fun.  Then we met Brook Bristow at Grouchos (yummy!) for a delicious lunch and then we headed home for a nap.  Emmie was soooo ready for a nap...she was worn out (and so were we)!  After a nice 2 hour nap Emmie and I got up and played outside for awhile and then I sent Emmie in to wake up Paul and then we all went outside and played some more.  Later we took Franklin for a walk and then came home and grilled some yummy steaks.  Emmie ate almost a whole steak by herself...little bit loves her meat!  After dinner we played some more and then it was time for bath and bed for Emmie.  She was sooo tired at bedtime but she stayed awake for quite awhile...but she was super cuddly which I just loved...I don't get to snuggle with her too often...she's always on the go!
Here are some pics from the park.

On the swings with Daddy.

She had so much fun crawling through the tunnel.

How cute is this picture!

Watching some kids play tee ball.

She had a great time just walking around in the grass exploring the park!

Sunday Style Section

Well I was kind of lazy this week with taking pictures and also we had kind of yucky weather so Emmie didn't get to wear any of her new outfits.  Until today that is!  Today it is FABULOUSLY beautiful outside and Emmie wore an adorable new outifit to church today.  It is one of my Daff-a-deals finds and I fell in love with it when I saw it...it's a very fitting outfit for a future Delta Zeta :)...lots of pink and green!

I put a little white tshirt under the dress for church since it was still a little chilly outside.
How cute is the bow on the back of the dress?  You know I love the bows!
And we have bows on the front too!
Don't  you just want to kiss those big cheeks?
Franklin...stylish as always in his Sunday best!

These next two pictures are kind of random but are very exciting to me.  When we moved into our house the previous owners had planted a beautiful little hydrangea bush...that all of a sudden exploded into a beautiful HUGE hydrangea bush.  There wasn't anything planted beside it...just a big empty space so I decided to plant another hydrangea since the first one was doing so well...and that's where the drama begins...4 hydrangea bushes later I finally have this:
...one that made it through a summer in Columbia and it is starting to get some green leaves on it!  I have babied this bush like nothing else and it finally paid off!

This is the first hydrangea...Paul cut it back but I did that last year and by the end of the summer it was at least twice this size...it's monstrous but beautiful and it blooms from about April to November!
