So I've come to the realization lately that Emmie is a VERY task oriented child. If you give her a job to do she will gladly do it, no matter what it is. This realization has helped a lot with tempering her strong will and has made for much more enjoyable days for both of us. On that same line, one of her favorite things to play with is a planner that I gave to her. She'll get a crayon or a pencil and "write" in her planner...it's pretty funny to watch! Anyway, all that to say that like her mom and dad she's going to be the kind of person that needs a to do list. Then I started thinking about what perhaps was on her to do list today...
-Get up, let Franklin out and give him a treat and giggle a lot while he tries to get the treat, attempt to pet him while giving him the treat
-Eat breakfast and share some of the orange with Franklin but not the grapes because they'll hurt his tummy.
-work on puzzle, play, every now and then (preferably when Mommy is at a good part in White Collar) go push buttons on loud, obnoxious ride-on toy, get a Franklin toy and offer it to him and try to sneak the other hand around to pet him while he is trying to get his toy (this elicits a lot of barking and giggles)
-run around the house and try not to get in too much trouble while Mommy gets a shower
-brush hair when Mommy brushes her hair
-run over to Mommy when she starts the hair dryer so that she will "dry" my hair too, laugh a lot, try to pet Franklin while he is trying to get his fur "dryed" and proceed to chase him around the bathroom
-try to do flips on the changing table while Mommy is getting me dressed
-get all packed in the car and then unpacked as Mommy realizes that Circle starts at 10 not 1030 (it's already after 10 at this point)
-take Franklin for a walk with Mommy, try to hold on to his leash so that it creates slack in the leash and then the leash gets tangled in the wheels
-help Mommy put the dishes from breakfast in the dishwasher and load the washing machine
-go upstairs with Mommy while she works on her couponing stuff, work on destroying the upstairs while Mommy's only half paying attention, don't torture Franklin at this time because he needs some rest, watch some Sesame Street
-go back downstairs and whine while Mommy fixes my lunch and packs it up so that we can go have lunch at Groucho's with Katherine and her parents (yay!)
-Eat lunch, be super cute and entertaining, dump cheerios all over the table, help Mommy clean up cheerios and then watch as she manages to knock her drink over in the process, dump some more cheerios out while Mommy is cleaning up from the drink spill, be super cute and entertaining
-Eat some cheerios in the car on the way home so that I can stay awake, dump cheerios in car seat for later, be enthralled by the train as we wait for it to pass so we can get home
-take nap
-wake up from nap and go to My Gym (yay!)
-be super cute and entertaining at My Gym and only make Mommy wrestle me down a few times during circle time, laugh a lot at the parachute at My Gym
-go to Bilo
-go to Publix where Mommy gets $160 worth of groceries for $80, be super cute so that the produce guy will give me a banana to eat while we shop, get back in car and eat some of the cheerios left in the carseat
-come home and "eat" dinner (kind of full after the banana and cheerios)
-help Mommy unpack the groceries, really and truely help out by bringing Mommy all the bags of frozen stuff to the outdoor freezer so she doesn't have to make 10 trips between the freezer and the kitchen
-walk around the house in circles, randomly go over to loud, obnoxious ride-on toy and push buttons (at which point Mommy is thinking of all the loud, obnoxious toys she can buy Ben and Abby's children and putting this on HER to do list), make Mommy read Pat the Bunny 50,000 times in a row and in between readings go push button on loud, obnoxious ride-on toy
-clap when everyone on Wheel of Fortune claps
-bath (always entertaining), read a book, cuddle with Mommy and Mousie, go to sleep :)
A very busy day for a little girl!
