Fun with Friends!

We've had a week full of spending time with friends and it's been great!

Sunday Rebekah, Ryan, and Addison came over on there way back to Conover.  It was so nice to see them.  I've really missed having Rebekah right down the street and Addison has grown soo much in the short time since they moved!

I love their matching pink hairbows!  Last time I saw Addison she didn't have enough hair for one!

Today we had a big day.  This morning we went to My Gym for our first "official" class.  Emmie is in the Tiny Tykes class.  It was really nice because the oldest child in the class was about 13mo and Emmie was right in the middle agewise so she could do pretty much everything the other kids were doing.  The trial class we went to was combined with the next age group up and so there were a lot of kids that were bigger than here.  Also, there were only about 6 kids in this class so it wasn't so overwhelming.  Emmie and a little girl named Lucy Kate became great friends almost instantly...it was pretty funny to watch them play together!

Emmie LOVED the little car!  They had created a "car wash" with mats and pom-poms and Emmie had a blast riding her car through the car wash.  She especially liked the pom-poms.

Swing!  Emmie sat in it for a minute or two and then she was DONE.  As you all know Emmie is not such a fan of swings!

This week Emmie enjoyed playing in the balls.  Last time she didn't find it very entertaining.  She still didn't want anything to do with the trampoline though!

This afernoon we met Kristi and Liv at the zoo.  Emmie LOVES to go to the zoo...she is very interested in all the animals.  She and Liv were really cute together.  I didn't get a picture of it but at one point Emmie was touching Liv's shoe.  I'm pretty sure I heard her say "mommy, I LOVE shoes"...HAHA!  A girl after my own heart!

Holding hands...what great friends!

Watching the penguins!
"Hey Liv, there's something in your hair.  Don't worry I'll pull it out for you"
"Look Mom, a bow!  Emmie found it in my hair!"

Videos

Today Emmie was eating some cheerios at dinner and she stuffed a handful in her mouth and then she waved bye-bye but it was almost like she was saying "come on cheerios! jump in my mouth!  give me more!".

Then she clearly was finished with her cheerios so I got her doing "all done".  She actually does this sign pretty often.  Sometimes she uses it for "bye-bye", she'll use it when I'm sucking her nose out, and she'll use it after she throws something on the ground (her newest trick if she's in the highchair or her stroller).  She also uses it when she's full but that doesn't happen too often!

And finally here's some video of her new crawl.  She's been army crawling for awhile but recently started doing a traditional crawl.  At first she would traditional crawl on carpet and army crawl on any floor with a slick surface but she has finally started doing a regular crawl everywhere.  Please ignore the wardrobe malfuctioning.  She had on a shirt that was a little too small (especially right after she ate dinner) and jeans that were a little big in the waist!

Aquarium

This past Saturday we went with Emmie's GG and Papa Coach (Paul's parents) to the Charleston Aquarium.  Emmie LOVED looking at all the fish and other aquatic animals.
Checking out the penguins.

There were various little cutouts that you could stand behind and I laughed at this one.  I knew we had to get a picture of Emmie as a skunk.  We called her a "little skunk" when she was a newborn because she could clear a room when she was gassy (don't worry future boyfriends...she outgrew that)!

She's trying to catch the fish!

Watching the feeding of the stingrays with GG.

She definitely propped her feet up on the glass.  I guess she was offering the fish a snack of baby toes?  Or perhaps just taunting them...look at these sweet baby toes that you can't have!

Checking out the fish with daddy.

SHARK!  Right after this picture she tried to escape from her stroller...she didn't want to be shark bait!

Looking at the fish with mommy.

Giving daddy some love....I thought this was a really sweet picture.

Hanging out with Papa Coach!

Relaxing...it wears a girl out to be carried around an aquarium.  She needs to prop her feet up at the end of a long morning.  HA!

Sunday Style Section

This week brought cooler weather to Columbia and that meant I got to pull out new clothes for Emmie...yay!  I have lots of cute outfits that I've been staring out all summer waiting for fall so she could wear them!
This is the outfit I made for Emmie.  The bow definitely needs a navy headband to go with it.  Although, really I'm leaning toward the smaller bows now because she'll leave them on and she has enough hair to keep them in!

I love this little Laura Ashley dress that my mom's friend, Mrs. Ingram, sent to us when Emmie was just a little baby.  I have been waiting sooo long for Emmie to be able to wear it because it is just adorable!
Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks?

Mrs. Karr gave us this dress and I LOVE it.  I'm on the hunt for some hot pink tights to go with it.  So adorable!
I also love this rocking chair that Paul's mom had in her den.  Doesn't Emmie look so grown up sitting there?
This was Emmie's sunday outfit this week.  We didn't make it to church because she has a cold and an ear infection.  I think this dress makes her look like a baby doll.  I paired it with some light pink tights (it was kind of cool this morning) and a light pink bow.  I just felt the need to squeeze her all day!  I can't really get pictures of her in the chair anymore...she doesn't want to sit still for the 30seconds I need her to so that I can get the picture.  I had to give her a book to get her to sit still for this picture and I love the book pictures I got.  She LOVES her books!
This was Emmie's dress for the Summerville game.  I made the dress and Christa monogrammed it.
Gin-g found these bloomers for Emmie when she was just a baby and we were glad she got to wear them to a game!

Summerville Game

Friday night Emmie, Paul and I went to Summerville to cheer on Emmie's Papa Coach and the football team.  Summerville won..yay...clearly Emmie is a good luck charm!  Emmie wasn't super interested in the game but she liked watching the players warm up (they clapped their hands a lot so she was quite entertained).  We stayed for until the middle of the second quarter and all in all she had a fabulous time!
Emmie on the field before the game with her Papa Coach.  She was very interested in everything going on before the game.

This is Gin-g's friend Nalita (I probably spelled her name all wrong).  Emmie was sooo interested in her.  She loved her warm jacket and she kept laying her head on it.  As soon as Nalita held her Emmie gave her a big hug.  It was super cute.
Emmie and her daddy cheering on the Greenwave!  I LOVE this picture!

Quick Update

Just a quick update on our lives!  I worked Wednesday and Thursday this week (instead of my normal Thursday and Friday) so that we could go watch Emmie's Papa Coach coach football at Summerville this week (look for her dress in the Sunday Style Section this week!).  Well, Tuesday Emmie woke up with a cold AGAIN plus she's getting somewhere between 3 and 5 teeth.  Overall she's been pretty happy which is nice...she's such a trooper.  Anyway, Wednesday night I put her down around 8 and laid there for awhile and then started crying. and crying.  and crying...until midnight.  Paul was in Greenville that night but luckily my mom was there to keep Emmie so I had someone else around when all the screaming was going on.  She finally went to sleep but stirred around a lot all night.  Last night Paul was still in Greenville and my mom left after I got home from work but Emmie did pretty well. She woke up around 11:30 and I just patted her back and she went back to sleep and then she woke up around 4 and I did the same thing.  She stirred around a lot after waking up at 4 though.  Thursday while I was at work she ran a little bit of a fever but not too bad and seemed to be pretty happy.  I was debating about whether or not to take her to the doctor this morning but since we were going out of town and since it was almost the weekend I decided to go ahead and get her checked out just to be safe.  I'm glad I did!  She has an ear infection in both ears!  So we got our antibiotic and hopefully that will quickly clear it up!
Needless to say I've been a little frazzled today with having to run to the doctor while trying to get us all packed up!  Then while on the way to Summerville I got a call from work letting me know that a patient I took care of yesterday tested positive for pertussis today so now I have to take antibiotics too.  We're just a mess at our house apparently!
Anyway, we're super excited about going to the football game tonight...Emmie's first football game and then tomorrow we're taking her to the aquarium.  I'm sure I'll have TONS of pictures to put up tomorrow night!
