A little bit of this and that

This is kind of a wrap up of some snapshots of our lives this fall!

I have a friend from college who sells LuLaRoe. When she had her first party I bought a pair of black leggings...I can handle the solid color. Then I won a pair of leggings. I decided since I wasn't paying for them I should step out of my comfort zone and get a pattered pair. Mandy picked them out and I LOVE them! If you haven't tried them they are SO addicting...mostly because they are SO soft! Ellie LOVES when I wear them. She loves to "snuggle" with my leg!

Emmie loves to read! She is always so excited on Tuesdays when she gets home from school...Tuesday is library day and she is always ready to tell me what new books she got! The other night she finished her book and then came out and got a Junie B Jones book. Not long after I thought she was asleep in her room but then she came out around 10 and said she'd finished! I'm not sure where she gets her inability to put down a good book from ;)

Back in the early fall Ruthie, JP, and I went and had lunch with the big girls. It works out well because their lunchtimes overlap.
Eating lunch with Emmie and Ellie!

The first grade Sunday School class at our church were presented with Bibles back in September. Dr. Thomas came and talked to them and gave them each their own Bible. Emmie is so proud of hers!

JP won't sit and listen to books very often but he loves to "read" them by himself.
Ruthie and JP LOVE trash day. We're usually getting home from the Y about the time the trash truck comes.
Ruthie and JP and I went to the library one day while the big girls were at school. When we got home from picking them up they went straight to the box of library books and sat down and read almost all of them! I LOVE that they all love books and
its fun to see them sitting together on the couch while Emmie reads to them!

Ruthie loves to walk Franklin when we walk around the neighborhood. He's so good with her and always makes sure that he's not pulling on her arm.

JP is all about the slides. We met some friends at the park a few weeks ago and he never did go down the really big slide but he definitely thought about it for awhile. He recently discovered how to climb the ladder on the playset in our yard and throw himself head first down the slide. It makes him so happy.

13 Months

I am 13 months old!

  • I wear size 12 mo clothes, a size 4 wide shoe, and a size 4 diaper.
  • I take a nap from 12-2:30 every day. I go to bed at 8pm and get up about 7:15. I usually wake up once during the night.
  • I take a bottle before nap, one at bedtime, and one in the middle of the night.
  • I LOVE to play outside!
  • I am walking like a champ! I'm also into everything!
  • Mommy thinks that I think I turned 2 not 1. I have had quite the temper this month. I am having SERIOUS communication issues. We're working on that so hopefully things will be a little better by next month!
  • My favorite food is eggs. I eat at least 2 scrambled eggs every day.
  • I go to My Gym now and love getting to play. I am learning about sitting in the circle...still not my favorite but I get a little better every week!
  • I am going through a stage now where I want whatever toy Ruthie is playing with. Ruthie is not ok with this.
  • I like to look at books. Not really into listening to them but I like to sit by myself and flip through a book.
  • This month I went to the State Museum to check out their Wizard of Oz exhibit.
  • This month we went to visit GG and PaPa in Summerville. It was lots of fun! We went to the beach, some parks, and watched football practice.
  • This month I went to the zoo with Ruthie and Mommy. It was soooo fun! I was really into all the animals!

Sparkles

So I got an otoscope today. I was tired of spending $30 taking grumpy JP in only to find out he's just grumpy (or teething) and doesn't have an ear infection. I was looking at Ruthie's ear because she had been complaining about her ear hurting (just fluid..no infection). I wanted to compare Ruthie's ear to Ellie's so I asked Ellie to let me look at hers. I almost had a freak out moment when I looked at Ellie's ear. It looked like there was blood all in it!! I asked her over and over if her ear was hurting and she kept denying it. Then I looked closer and at a different angle. I quickly realized it was NOT blood in her ear (whew!). Instead it was something that looked like a lifesaver. I asked her quite a few times if she had put something in her ear. Nope. Fortunately the object was close to the front of her ear so I was able to get it out with some tweezers. It was a sequin from a sequined skirt she has. My Ellie Belly sparkles on the inside and the outside!

PS. If you see Ellie don't mention it to her...she's a little sensitive about it and doesn't find it nearly as funny as I do!
