Sunday Style Section

Love the Rosalina noah's ark dress.  I also love the big bow but Emmie was not so happy about it...she took it off right after I took the picture...oh well.

This little duck outfit is one of my favorites.

Yay for the big pink flower!

I had Gymboree gymbucks to use the other day and they had next to nothing cute...luckily jeans were on sale so I got a couple pairs for the girls.  I also found this cute little ladybug dress and the shorts below...the shorts are actually more for Ellie next summer but Emmie just barely fit into them now!

I wish you could see the shorts...there is cute white detail around the edges.

I didn't get a great shot of this outfit but Ellie looks sooo good in light blue!

Emmie loves her little rocking chair and I love this little pink dress!

This picture marked a momentous occasion at our house.  I managed to get Emmie's hair in a rubberband on the side so that I could then clip a bow in it.  I have learned from reading other blogs of people who's girls wear big bows that it's the best way to keep a big bow in.  I stratagized long and hard about the placement of this rubberband and all the hard work paid off!
My mom made this dress and it's so cute...I didn't get a picture of one of my favorite features...two little bows on the back!

I scream, You scream...

...Emmie screams for ice cream!

We made homemade cookies and cream ice cream while my mom was here last week and we gave Emmie a little bowl of vanilla, which she quite enjoyed...and wanted more of so we gave her some cookies and cream (which is what we were all eating).  I think it's an understatement to say she enjoyed her ice cream!

Good to the last drop...literally.

Baby O-tay

Whenever Ellie cries Emmie always asks if she's o-tay (translation: ok).  I think we've said "she's ok" so many times that now Emmie thinks we named her baby "o-tay".  When Emmie gets up from bed or comes back in the house, she walks around saying "o-tay?", "o-tay?" until she finds Ellie.
So world, meet O-tay Edwards (aka Ellie).

Sunday Style Section

Emmie was 19mo old last Sunday and I was pretty much in a haze so I didn't get a Sunday Style Section up so today we have 2 weeks worth!  Also, sorry this is a day late...I was having internet issues.

Getting hospital pictures taken.

LOVE this outfit Emmie has on...I didn't get a great picture of it but you get the idea.

Ellie's going home outfit.  I made the dress and Christa monogrammed it.  I've made Emmie quite a few of these little tie dresses for Emmie and they're super easy and very cute!

You must love the flower!

Who wouldn't love a little ruffled bathing suit.  This is my favorite bathing suit of Emmie's.

Franklin with his new haircut.  I do love when Amanda puts a garnet bandanna on him!

Emmie looks like a little school girl in her blue polo and khaki skirt!

My little monkey!

Love this little dress.

Everyone knows this little dress is one of my favorites.  It just looks so comfy!

Emmie's Uncle Blake brought her an apron from the Watermelon Festival in Pageland.  She LOVES it!

Who doesn't love a little duck?  Also, note the haircut that my mom gave Emmie...she desperately needed it!

So many great things about this picture.  #1 Pink and Green. #2 BIG PINK BOW!

Emmie's Sunday dress.  I was too slow to get one with her shoes still on.

Playing Catch-up

Since we got home Saturday life has been a bit of a blur.  The first two nights we were home Ellie was up every 1.5 hours at night to nurse which was VERY exhausting.  Sunday morning was pretty rough between having no sleep and then having to watch after Emmie.  My family came Sunday afternoon and Paul and I were VERY glad to see them!  My mom cooked us a yummy dinner Sunday and then the rest of my family went home and my mom is staying for the week.  Sunday night was rough too but it was so nice that my mom could take care of Emmie on Monday and I could get some sleep.  Each night since then has improved and last night Ellie went 3.5 hours between her first two feeds and then she went from 4:15-8:15 at the end!  Now I just have to convince Ellie that 5am is not awake time...she seems to think it's a great time to pop those eyes open and check out the world!
Emmie has done pretty well overall.  I was really worried that Ellie would wake Emmie up at night but so far Emmie has slept through all the up and down and crying...yay!  Emmie really, really loves her little sister and we've definitely had to watch her to make sure she doesn't love Ellie too much!  It's been a little hard for Emmie to have to adjust to sharing her mama.  Yesterday she didn't want my mom to help her with anything, she wanted her mama to do everything which led to lots of meltdowns if I was busy feeding Ellie and just couldn't help her.  Last night it worked out that I could give Emmie her bath and put her to bed and today I was able to spend some time with Emmie reading books and doing some puzzles and that seemed to help her a lot.  Emmie also had My Gym today and then she and my mom went to Wal-mart.  I know it helped her a lot to get out of the house and get her wiggles out!

Getting ready to go home from the hospital.  I love the dress she wore home.  It's one I made and Christa monogrammed.  The dress is a newborn but is quite big so Ellie will be able to wear it for awhile.

Saturday evening Paul and I took the girls and Franklin for a walk and then Sunday I took all of them by myself...if nothing else, I know that's one thing I can do by myself!  It's so much easier to take a summer baby for a walk than it was to take Emmie in December!  I just lay Ellie in the back of the stroller.  I had to stuff Emmie in her "bear suit" (essentially a parka) and put her in the carrier to take her for walks as an infant!

Emmie liked being able to turn around and see her sister while we walked!

I have some more pictures to put up later but I have to get them off my mom's camera.

19 months!

I am 19 months old!

  • I wear 2t shirts, 18 month shorts, 18-24mo dresses, and a size 5.5 shoe.
  • I say LOTS of words and will put them into 2 or 3 word sentences.
  • I have almost all of my teeth...it's been a busy teething month this month!
  • I am very into baby dolls right now.
  • This month I went to the waterpark a few times and I loved it more and more each time!
  • This month I also went to the pool at Ivy's house and we had lots of fun.  I also like to play in the blow up pool in the backyard.  I also learned how to blow bubbles in the pool.
  • This month I went to a Columbia Blowfish baseball game and got to see fireworks which I thought were really neat.

  • This month I developed a deep love for shoes of all shapes and sizes.
  • I still go to My Gym every week.  I have recently started sitting in the middle of the circle during circle time and doing a lot of the exercises on my own.  I like to help lead circle time!
  • I love to sing songs, especially if they have motions.  Some of my favorites are "Little Cabin in the Woods", "Wheels on the Bus", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Open Them, Shut Them", and "Head and Shoulders".
  • I love to read and do puzzles.
This month I got a new baby sister and I think she's GREAT!

Ellie - 1 day old

Ellie and I had a good night last night.  She woke up about every 4 hours to nurse and then would go back to the nursery.  It worked out really well because she was eating at about the same time the nurse was coming to check on me and the tech was coming to take my vital signs so I got some good sleep in between!
This morning Ellie and I hung out (well Ellie pretty much ate all morning) and she fell asleep about the time Paul got here with lunch (Grouchos...yummm).  Of course then it was time for her pictures but once I got her changed she went right back to sleep.

I managed to get some pics of Paul with Ellie today.

We discovered last night that Ellie likes to sleep with her hands either ovver her head or in front of her face.  Today while she was napping I snapped a picture of her with her hands over her head.

This afternoon we had some visitors and then GG, Papa Coach, and Emmie came up to visit.  Emmie was very excited to see Ellie and just loved all over her!  She kept laying her head on Ellie and hugging her.

Emmie also discovered Ellie's hands and was kissing them...it was very cute.

I love this picture of Emmie giving Ellie a kiss!
