Spring Break Fun

After spending the first half of our spring break in Greenville we headed home Wednesday afternoon. As soon as we arrived home we grabbed Easter baskets and headed to Ruthie's preschool for an Easter Egg hunt. It only goes through second grade but Emmie does something kind of like youth group there and so she was helping with the egg hunt which thrilled her. The kids had lots of fun and loaded up on eggs!

Emmie managed to jump in a picture!

Ellie found a golden egg!

Snacks afterwards. The best part was that she could eat ANYTHING out on the refreshment table. Events like this make me so very thankful for OIT!

Thursday was our not so fun day of spring break. The kids had to go with me to the chiropractor and we were there almost a hour and a half. Then we met Paul for lunch (that part was fun!) and then headed to the post office to get passports for the kids. The passport guy at the post office had gotten pulled to the window so they weren't doing passports that day so that turned into a whole other mess but 2 1/2 hours later (and 2 post offices plus a trip back home and a trip to Paul's office) we finally had passports processed and were back home! It was a lovely day outside so we had some water fun!

This is how they felt about the day!

Friday I ran some errands in the morning and then after lunch I helped the kids dye Easter eggs. They had SO much fun and were all really excited about how their eggs turned out. My Grandmother used to do an egg hunt and Easter egg dying with the cousins and I have so many wonderful memories from Easter with her. I love being able to do some of these same things with my kids!

We were supposed to go to the Fireflies game Friday night but the weather was yucky so we stayed home. The kids were disappointed but they ended up cancelling the game so we were glad we hadn't loaded everyone up and gone!

Saturday Emmie had a birthday party to go to in the morning and in the afternoon we all went to Columbia Children's Theatre's production of The Three Little Pigs. It was really good!

The rest of the day JP and Paul spent lots of time working in the yard planting some new bushes and the garden and going back and forth to Lowe's and Home Depot. JP loved getting to help his daddy! Saturday night we had breakfast for dinner and then the kids helped me make Easter cookies. I saw the recipe on Facebook. As you added ingredients you told the story of Jesus's death and resurrection. I really enjoyed doing this with the kids!
