Summerville

The girls, little puppy, and I just got back from a few days in Summerville with Paul's parents. The weather didn't really cooperate with us but we had a great time anyway!
We went down Sunday night and on Monday morning we went to the beach. It was supposed to be 70s and sunny...we got 60s and cloudy. But that sure didn't stop us from having fun. Emmie and Ellie found a friend towards the end of our beach trip so they had lots of fun playing with her. Emmie is apparently our own little polar bear...she was out in the water having a blast!

So excited!
This seafoam was all over the beach when we got there. Emmie was quite fascinated with it.

GG and Ellie playing in the sand. Ellie thought the water was a bit chilly but she had lots of fun playing in the sand and collecting shells (the beach was covered with shells!).

She took off her cover for a few minutes and then decided it was way too cold to just be running around in a bathing suit. Smart girl!

She was such a mess and loving it!!! On a side note she was super excited about her Ariel bathing suit and then to make it even better we were sitting next to some college girls and they told Emmie how much they liked her bathing suit and that Ariel was their favorite too..she was so proud!

I just love this picture! So sweet!

Emmie was so funny when we were collecting shells. Fred had found about 3 big conch shells and we showed Emmie how to listen to the ocean in them which just fascinated her. She followed one of the college girls (who was also picking up shells) down the beach and showed her the shell and wanted the girl to listen too. The girl was very sweet to Emmie and was duely impressed.
After the cold caught up to Emmie and she turned purple we dried off, changed, and had a little picnic. Then we headed back to Summerville and off course the girls took naps in the car so they were ready to play when we got back. We were just ready to give Emmie (and Ellie but especially Emmie) a bath..haha!
Monday night after the girls went to bed Gin-g and I went and saw Oz. It was sooo good! It was the perfect mix of funny, serious, tense, happy, and little life lessons. It's been a long time since I went to a movie so I was really excited to get to go!

Today Gin-g and Fred got up with the girls and I slept until about 10:30 and it was so nice. I think the last time I slept that late was when Paul and I went to Savannah when Emmie was almost 1...I'm pretty sure I just slept the majority of that trip! After I got up we headed to a really nice park and had fun even though it was kind of misting outside.

After playing we headed to Chick-fil-A...and an indoor playground...the girls got lots of playground time in today! They both took pretty good naps which was nice!
We headed back to Columbia after dinner tonight and I've managed to get us mostly unpacked, a blog post written, and a load of laundry done..not too bad for an evening's work!
