Cuddle Time!

Emmie loves to lay on the couch beside me and cuddle. She doesn't stay there for very long but I love the minute or two I get to cuddle with my busy toddler!

The other day I was catching up on my blog reading while Ellie was hanging out with me and she started talking to the baby on the blog (Hollis from Kelly's Korner) and later my mom was holding her in front of a mirror and she started talking to the baby in the mirror. So I decided that I definitely needed some video of her chatting it up with that ADORABLE baby in the mirror!

Sunday Style Section - 2 weeks worth

I love this little brown smocked dress my mom made for Emmie. I think she'll probably be able to wear it through the winter and then we can hem it and Ellie will be able to wear it!

This was Ellie's dress this morning. You can't see it very well but it's white with little pink flowers on it. It's the softest cotton and I know it must be super comfy.

How cute is this little puppy onesie? The pants actually go with her elephant onesie but they work with this one too!

I love this outfit...I also love her look: "another picture mom?"

I love this outfit on Emmie and one of these days I'm going to get around to making her a leopard print bow. I have the ribbon just not the time. Note the yellow sandals...she dug them out of her closet and insisted on wearing them around the house even though they were too small.

Ellie had on her "love bug" outfit as well but I guess I didn't get a picture of her. This was in the middle of Ellie's sleep strike so I wasn't very motivated to take pictures.

What we're working on...

Ellie is not a fan of tummy time and I've been trying really hard to make sure she does it a couple times a day but she still doesn't always get her head very far off the ground. She does however, LOVE to sit up. She sits in the bumbo a lot and I've recently started having her sit with the boppy behind her. She's doing so good and she really likes it...even when she's doing the lean. She can't sit up for too long with just the boppy but she enjoys trying!

This was one of the best shots I got. She's just leaning a little on the boppy.

"It's a tough decision...sit up straight or lean to the side so that one can chew on one's hand?....perhaps I'll sit here and chew and contemplate."

Remember when?

Remeber when the one sleeved shirt was popular?  Well, Emmie's bringing it back!

Emmie did this completely on her own and I'm not exactly sure how she managed it. Paul about had a coniption...I thought it was pretty funny!

Yumm?

Ellie has been having A LOT of trouble sleeping this week. She's been up every 1-3 hours (the 3 hour gaps have been few and far between...it's mostly been 1 and 2 hour stretches of sleep) at night. Generally when she wakes up at night she's pretty happy and is awake just because she's awake. This week however, she's been very unsettled when she wakes up. She's been very easy to get back to sleep...pacifier and a pat on the back...but she only sleeps for a bit and then wakes back up. I've tried pretty much everything to keep her asleep: tylenol, swaddling, etc. Today I took her to the doctor to make sure she didn't have an ear infection or anything. She checked out just fine so after some discussion and some calculations the doctor realized that she's getting a super small dose of zantac since she's grown a pound in the 3 weeks since we were there last!! So she's now getting more than double her original dose and we're going ahead and starting rice cereal in hopes that helps the reflux and the sleeping. I'm hoping this works because our next option is to switch from breastfeeding to a soy based formula.
We started the rice cereal tonight and it was quite funny! With Emmie I was a little stressed when starting rice cereal because I didn't know how thin to make it, I wasn't using a super fabulous Nuk spoon and it ended up everywhere because, of course, she pushed most of it out of her mouth the first time! Well, this time around I kind of know the right consistency and I have my super fabulous Nuk spoon and I was prepared for the super mess. Ellie was hilarious eating her cereal..she kept making the funniest face! Emmie kept wanting to sample the cereal and then ocne I got her sidetracked from that she kept wanting to watch me video tape Ellie.  It was quite an ordeal but pretty funny! The first video you can really see her funny facial expression and the second you can watch her eating...she kept trying to put her hands in her mouth...it made quite a mess!

Ellie had many sleep issues (as in a serious lack of sleep) while we were in Greenville and I'm pretty sure this was one of her most relaxed moments!
