Keeping Watch

Franklin keeping watch over Ellie!  He's so cute...he even looks tired already, as if he knows what awaits him with the birth of another sister!

We go in tomorrow at 5:30 (ugh) for induction!  I'm soooo ready to meet Ellie and I can't wait for Emmie to meet her as well...I know she's going to be a great big sister!

Splish Splash...and other goings on

We went to the waterpark one last time today.  Every time we go Emmie enjoys it more and more and today was no exception!

She has fun in the pool but she REALLY loves the splashpad!

It's so much fun when the water falls on your head!

One of Emmie's new tricks is that she likes to hide under the dining room table.  This evening she went and hid under the table and I was in the kitchen cleaning up.  A few minutes later I heard her yelling "hey" over and over so I went to see what she was up to...

...she was in a box...silly girl!

We also took Franklin to get groomed today..he was very glad to get his hair cut shorter!  Emmie and I went and ran a few errands after we dropped Franklin off and each time we got back in the car she'd look at me and say "Ganklin?" (Emmie speak for Franklin).  She wanted to make sure we didn't forget to go pick up her brother!
PS.  The reason I took this picture was because after I took Emmie's picture in the box he kept following me around wagging his tail as if to say: "don't you want to take my picture.  I am awfully cute!".  Yes Franklin, you're super adorable!

Sunday Style Section

This is the last Sunday Style Section without an appearance by Ellie!

Emmie's church dress this week...a pretty little Strausburg dress.  She started out with a white bow in her hair but that had gone by the wayside by the time I went to take her picture.

I'm a big fan of this little brown polka dot dress.  I love the way Emmie looks in brown.

Going for a Ride

The double stroller has been sitting in our dining room for a few weeks.  Emmie really hasn't shown much more than a passing interest in it while it's been sitting there.  However, the other day Paul and I were sitting in the den and I heard a rustling noise coming from the dining room and upon investigation this is what we found:

Emmie had somehow managed to crawl under the tray and get herself turned around to sit in the stroller.  Hilarious!

When my mom was here we got some pictures of me pushing Emmie and Franklin, who suprisingly LOVED being in the stroller.  I just put him in for a minute to get a picture and when I took him out he kept following me around wanting to get back in!

Dress Up

Emmie has a slight obsession with shoes...especially other people's shoes.  This weekend she modeled a variety of styles for us!

Mommy's flip flops

Daddy's tennis shoes

her own silver sequined shoes....aren't they fabulous?!!!

Pool

Today we went over to Ivy's house and played in her pool!  Emmie had a great time...Ivy is almost
2 1/2 and she's sooo good with Emmie.  Ivy and her family have a cat and some chickens and Emmie was obsessed!  I've been working with Emmie on blowing bubbles in the pool and yesterday she did it really well in her little baby pool and today she practiced some more...I'm so proud of my little swimmer!  She's also gotten good at kicking her feet...olympics here we come...haha!  After we played in the pool Kerri made us some popsicles...they were white grape, peach, and mango juice popsicles with chopped up kiwi pieces and they were sooooo good!

Fourth of July

I had to work on the 4th but Sunday Paul and I took Emmie to the Columbia Blowfish baseball game (they played the USC Alumni) and then we stayed to watch the fireworks afterwards.  Emmie did pretty well during the game...granted I did have to bribe her with some graham crackers to stay in her seat!  However, the real lifesaver was the little 3 year old girl that was sitting behind us.  She and Emmie had the BEST time "talking" to each other and being silly.  Emmie loves being around older kids and I love watching her interact with other children.  I wasn't sure how Emmie would do with the fireworks...this was her first exposure to them.  She LOVED them!  She was pretty tired by the time they started and she mostly just laid her head on me and we turned so she could see the fireworks.  I was just very glad that she wasn't scared of them!  Needless to say by the time we got home at 9:45 she was out like a light!
